Every Monday, with occasional exceptions for holidays or special events, The South Hudson Music Project presents New Music Mondays from 7.30- 9 p.m. at The Royal Room. Typically they are followed by the Monday Night Jazz Jam, at 9pm.

New Music Mondays focuses on improvised music, experimental music, and the outer boundaries of jazz. Many New Music Mondays feature the Royal Room Collective Music Ensemble. Other nights are often led by members of the ensemble, sharing the same pursuit of combining composition, improvisation, conduction and other avenues to foster the new and unexpected.

Hosted by Alex Guilbert,The Piano Starts Here series highlights the work of some of the most prolific and talented composers and pianists to have ever tackled the instrument, bringing together Seattle’s finest pianists to perform the works of the artist selected for that evening on the Royal Room’s Steinway B grand piano.
